Spotlight on Series 23

Been enjoying the LINE UP from Series 23 lately....  as always, I grab one or two each and everytime I go out and wait for the Perfect opportunity to snap a few shots of them....

the DISNEY connection...

This past Christmas, I gathered all my Disney themed Be@rbricks...  wanted to get them all in front of a XMas tree for some Holiday Greeting cards....  was having a time of it when all of a sudden I realized, aside from the Mickey that I have dressed as Peter Pan - I really do not have a Mickey & Minnie in the Mix...  certainly not ones that truly represents them....  what kind of a collection is that without the leader of the Mickey Mouse Club and her Best Gal....

So, searched and begged I did - just so I can get the pair - and Sue, came through....  she got me #16 and #17 of the recently released Disney XMas releases, Exclusive for Disney Japan....  though not in their traditional Red and Black Polka Dotted outfit - this time in Gold for the Holidays - they are none-the-less the Mickey and Minnie we are used to....  and am HAPPY!!!

and as an extra BONUS, I even got the Alien from Toy Story, too!!!

it's raining Be@rbricks....

What could be a better way to alleviate one's suffering from a tiring flight back from Manila to Taipei (flight was delayed for almost 2 hrs.... so instead of coming in at 12:30AM, I arrived at past 2AM... Hmmmmpf!); from having just a few hours sleep as Fireworks and the sounds of people playing mahjong next door filling the air; and coming home to such freezing cold weather.... BRRRRRRRR.....

Nothing, nothing but Be@rbricks - that is!!!

Had a nice long lunch with Sue today - a post Chinese NY lunch.... and a GREAT EXCUSE to get the stash of cuties she has been saving for me all these time.... it was like XMAS once more!!!

Finally brought home my December release SERIES 23 - almost complete but missing  one of the ARTIST ones....  plus 4 SECRET ones....  the ones I TRULY like more....  even Finally got the Metallic colored, Barbie one - one of the Secret Version from Series 21.   SCORE!!!

my365 with Be@rbricks

iPhone has this cute my365 program where one can upload a photo a day....   a photo of anything and everything....  Juliana got Sue and I turned on to this - so we have dove in and started the project, too....  I decided to challenge myself and use nothing but my Be@rbricks for this project....     think I have enough, or will, to keep it going and keep it all Fresh....   I HOPE!!!!   Hahahahahaha...

The photo resolutions are not the greatest if taken directly through the program.....   and small, too....  but you can take photos direct with the iPhone and upload into the program for better imaging....  yep, still learning it all...

Best Dressed Be@rbricks

One of the focus of my Be@rbrick Collection - possibly the most painful part (not just mentally but financially... LOL!) are the ones that are issued for, and by, some of the World's Fashion houses....   most of us have seen the ones that were issued and auctioned of years ago for Charity...   gorgeous crossovers for Coach, Missoni, Paul Smith, CHANEL, Burberry, etc....  Am sure we would have loved to own any of those...even just one..  but LUCKY are those who can still find them on Yahoo or EBay auction houses - and even LUCKIER if one has the bucks to buy them!

But still, am not complaining as there are still numerous Designer Tie-Ins to be found...  from High End ones (Paul Smith, Anna Sui, Fendi, etc) right down to the Street Hip Hop ones (NIKE, LEVI's, STUSSY, BAPE, Fragment, etc).  Even other Designer Houses in all spectrum of life: FNAC, BMW, furniture designer Klaus Happaniemi, etc.  the list is endless....  so the HUNT will be endless...

So far I have, with the help of Sue and Juliana, acquired some of the sought after older ones: Paul Frank, Paul & Joe, Comme Des Garcons, Taiwan Exclusive LEVIs X Edison Chen', NIKE Anniversary Collection (10 in all!!), Paul Frank, 24 Karats, last year's 2nd Edition Anna Sui one - Exclusive to Japan - plus a few others...  not yet enough to fill up a MEDICOM Be@rbrick Display Case that holds 45 pcs...

ABOVE 4 are some of the ones I LOVE MOST with DESIGNER TIE INs.  From the Top: 400%and 100% Paul & Joe, Anna Sui 2nd Edition, and Happy Socks (Regular and Special Versions),

But this should not be a worry, as time goes by, I find out more and more that were previously issued (PORTER, FENDI, Paul Smith, MERIMEKO) and/or being issued (Fred Perry) - ones I would definitely would LOVE to add to my collection...  All of this only means a BIG Headache for me, as to where and how to get them...  these are and will always be the HOLY GRAIL of my Be@rbrick Collection.

Above 5 are the ones in my MUST HAVE list at the moment....  from the top: PORTER, FENDI, Paul Smith & the 1st Edition of Anna Sui (all previously issued); and also the soon to be released, Fred Perry.

series 23 sighting...

did not get mine yet - sadly, will have to wait till after the Chinese New Year - but I was elated to see them on one of my MOST FAVE Be@rbrick Blogs around: bre@rbrick love

Spotlight on Be@rbricks!!!

Yes, my LOVE for these cute little bears have turned into an addiction....  well, it has for a long while now but I was still in the DENIAL stage, I suppose....  just shrugging it off as a HOBBY... yeah, right!

So, with the ever growing collection - I have decided it is time to ADMIT that it is an ADDICTION and not just a casual HOBBY, no more....  am sure my fellow Be@rbrick Lovers would agree - in an instant!!!! More especially my partners in crime, in this addiction, Juliana and Sue...   am glad I have two BEST FRIENDS who are close by to share, discuss, help me acquire and not miss,   and more importantly, suffer in this addiction with....   Thank You Ladies!!!!

With all this in mind, and starting with the release of Series 23,  I have decided it is time also to Spotlight this cuties that are in my collection with their own BLOG SPACE....   it will be good for me to keep track of what I do have....  be inspired to photograph them and incorporate them in my everyday life....  and most of all, share my LOVE for these Be@rbricks!
