Along with the above set a 10th Anniversary retrospective book also was issued...   much to my delight, of course!  This Sonny Angel book is truly a blessing and a curse - Blessing as it helps educate me and identify the ones I see here and there....  a Curse, as with the book, I was able to learn and see more past issues that I would love to acquire....   Oh Well, On with the Hunt!!!

Btw, the book came with a 100% "Kiss Mark Leopard" Bunny as an Anniversary Gift!!!

Kewpie X Disney

Now and again, I come across something sooooo cute O could not just look and admire.. I Must Take Home!!!  And this little guy is one of those times!!!

Kewpie dressed as the Genie from Aladdin - much too cute!!!  Not really sure when they came out but am told a few years back..  First time for me to see it...  And my re awakened love for Kewpie makes me a bit more aware of them in my travels.

The three volumes of Kewpies dressed as various much loved Disney characters.  One day, i hope to come across a few more!!!

RODY Land

Taiwan celebrates 30th Anniversary of this popular character with a retrospective exhibition...  Am aware of this character as I have seen it pop up as Premiums for both Hi*Life and Family Mart - but I was not aware Rody has been around that long... Yowza!!

----------------------

The History of Rody:

The Rody character was born in 1984 at Ledraplastic's, in Italy. Its rounded shape comes from the idea of "melting" together several balls of various sizes to get a nice character which could catch attention of children. It had to look active and friendly at the same time. A jumping horse was the result. At first we wanted to call this toy "Rodeo" but then, in order to avoid any possible problems with patents, etc, we decided to call it "RODY", which also sounded mode friendly to children. To give an idea of a possible fantastic setting for a story, it is possibile to refer to the Rhodos island and its Knights. The reason is the island name, Rhodos, which is very close to our Rody's name) and its history and location, between the Western and Eastern culture.

Wonderful Wednesday, Indeed!!!

Woke up to another rainy day...  Went to get my coffee and exchange for a couple of the Kewpie Premiums...  Sadly the elusive Lion was not in the boxes once more..  Am already frustrated as I have quite. Few Repeats already...

So I decided to put my Shameless Dace on and Beg the Store man to let me exchange one for the Lion on display...  Nevermind that it has been taken out of the box and displayed - it means finally completing my collection!  And Voila...  "Ask and you shall get!!"

Beloved Comic character, Kewpie comes to life, again!  Yes, Taiwan's convenience store, Hi*Life is offering a few Kewpie Vinyl Phone Pluggies in their current Premium Program.  So it means I will be having Hi*Life coffee for a while... :)

Based on Artist Rose O'Neill's beloved comic illustrations, these Kewpies stands a little over an inch tall....   And packs a bundle of fun!
