He joins in the 2 400% and 1 100% Porter ones acquired previously!!!

Mazinger Z for My BDay!!!

So I never got a chance to get the 100% Mazinger Z Secret from a couple of Series back.. And with the rising prices, am pretty sure I never will..  But I did get Lucky as fir my last BDay, this past June 9th, I was gifted the 400% Mazinger Z by my best friend, Juliana!!

I would not have bought it, as I try to stay away from the 400% and other sizes but 100%,  

but am sure In 7th Heaven with this gift!!!

Yes... after years of looking high and low....  begging peeps for help....  and watching Auction sites...  this AWESOME SET is FINALLY MINE!!!   and Good things must really come to those who wait as the previous owner in JAPAN kept this really nice and mint - box as well...  and with the help of Hot Dog Toyz, I got it at a fairly decent price..... 

 

What used to be Number one on my Be@rbrick Wish List - it is no more.... 

and with this, am SATISFIED - for now!!!!

YES!!!!  One of my Holy Grail Wishes Have Come TRUE - 400% Porter Be@rbrick is in the House!!!  You would think that the excitement would have dwindled down a bit over this guy as I have seen him in person here and there....  just never for sale....   But I could not even tell you how elated I still was, I still am, upon getting this guy....  opening up my box.....   and taking him out to photograph....  it was Pure Heaven!!!!

Porter x Karimoku x Medicom Toy 400% Bearbrick

To help celebrate their founding company Yoshida & Co‘s 77th anniversary, Porter have teamed up with the Japanese Karimoku craftsmen and Medicom Bearbrick, for this cool 400% Bearbrick.  This one is  made from Padauk wood and have been produced in very limited numbers. This Special Edition has an October release date and carries a retail price of around $900USD - OOOOOOUVH!!!

April Love: Anna Sui BBs

Been Confirmed and slated for an end of April release is the third Be@rbrick design by Anna Sui...  not only the talked about 400% but to my joy, a 100% version will also be available.... YEAH!!!

Turning Japanese

May, just in time with Japan's Golden Week, will bring forth a slew of new Be@rbricks that are definitely Japanese!!!   This is in conjunction with Medicom Toy's Flagship Shop's Grand Opening in Tokyo Sky Tree Town on May 22nd 2012.  

I for one cannot wait for their release....  MUST HAVES, each and every one of them....  for sure!

Anna Sui X Be@rbrick III

A third Anna Sui has been announced and is expected to hit the market sometime in May...  This time around, the be@rbrick will be in 400% size...  Below is the Promotional Shot of it....  

Have not heard yet if it will come with a 100% companion... I sure hope it does as for the most part, I only want to collect the 100%...    and besides it'll look quite cool with the other 2 100% editions...

Best Dressed Be@rbricks

One of the focus of my Be@rbrick Collection - possibly the most painful part (not just mentally but financially... LOL!) are the ones that are issued for, and by, some of the World's Fashion houses....   most of us have seen the ones that were issued and auctioned of years ago for Charity...   gorgeous crossovers for Coach, Missoni, Paul Smith, CHANEL, Burberry, etc....  Am sure we would have loved to own any of those...even just one..  but LUCKY are those who can still find them on Yahoo or EBay auction houses - and even LUCKIER if one has the bucks to buy them!

But still, am not complaining as there are still numerous Designer Tie-Ins to be found...  from High End ones (Paul Smith, Anna Sui, Fendi, etc) right down to the Street Hip Hop ones (NIKE, LEVI's, STUSSY, BAPE, Fragment, etc).  Even other Designer Houses in all spectrum of life: FNAC, BMW, furniture designer Klaus Happaniemi, etc.  the list is endless....  so the HUNT will be endless...

So far I have, with the help of Sue and Juliana, acquired some of the sought after older ones: Paul Frank, Paul & Joe, Comme Des Garcons, Taiwan Exclusive LEVIs X Edison Chen', NIKE Anniversary Collection (10 in all!!), Paul Frank, 24 Karats, last year's 2nd Edition Anna Sui one - Exclusive to Japan - plus a few others...  not yet enough to fill up a MEDICOM Be@rbrick Display Case that holds 45 pcs...

ABOVE 4 are some of the ones I LOVE MOST with DESIGNER TIE INs.  From the Top: 400%and 100% Paul & Joe, Anna Sui 2nd Edition, and Happy Socks (Regular and Special Versions),

But this should not be a worry, as time goes by, I find out more and more that were previously issued (PORTER, FENDI, Paul Smith, MERIMEKO) and/or being issued (Fred Perry) - ones I would definitely would LOVE to add to my collection...  All of this only means a BIG Headache for me, as to where and how to get them...  these are and will always be the HOLY GRAIL of my Be@rbrick Collection.
