Marvel X Family Mart

It's Marvel time once again..  What with the release of Captain America 2, Spiderman 2, and XMen soon - Marvel Heroes are popping up everywhere..  From tees to school supplies to snacks...

My Fave one this season is the current Premium Program from Family Mart:  Cool Colorful  Tumblers with vinyl Marvel Heroes on top of the caps....

The tumblers are made of sturdy hard plastic and comes in different colors...  Available Marvel Heroes are Captain America, Spiderman, Thor, the Hulk, and Ironman... One cannot choose though as they come in blind boxes..   I was lucky enough to get Captain America and Thor right away - the ones i really wanted..,

Another program happening at the same time are these mini Marvel figures that one can purchase for NT$49 along with a couple of the drinks in the poster.  This one is proving quite elusive for me as all Family Marts are always Sold Out.

I also love these Pea Crackers with the Heroes on the packages..  Quite fun to take when seeing the Marvel films..  Show one's dedication to the World of Marvel!!!

Faking It!!!

A couple of days ago, I came across this LEGO like Robin..  

Thought it really was LEGO but when I asked the price, I knew it was too cheap to be LEGO...

It is in fact a FAKE, a Knock Off..  But a really good one...

Made by a company called SY - China, of course!

This is him with his packaging...  He is part of the Batman Series..  But like the LEGO Robins - he is also harder to get.  I liked him so much, i just had to pick up a few other ones...  

And I just might go back for more!!!

MARVEL VS. DC COMICS

Well, in the Be@rbrick world, MARVEL topples DC Comics for sure!!!

Just take a look at the roster (Photo Left)... I mean SpiderMan and Iron Man alone have sooooo many variations already... And what I have is even missing a few issues including the Damage Versions of The Avengers.... And With more to come, too... Already two new versions of Iron Man are on the say to coincide with the new film coming out...

Here's hoping other DC Heroes and Heroines will get their turn in Be@rbrick forms... Not quite sure if I have all the DC ones issued so far (see photo below) - maybe am missing a few BATMANs??? - if anyone knows, do tell me pls...  INFO would be very much appreciated....

Taipei Toy Exhibition

A couple of days ago, I happened upon this really cool Toy Exhibition at Misukoshi A9 - in Taipei...  was actually walking home from a frustrating afternoon and came across the EVENTS POSTER - needless to say, my mood changed right away, and right there and then, I was on my way up to the 9th Floor of the A9 Building to take in the Exhibition....

Actually lots to see at this Exhibition....   cute vinyl toys from familiar brands such as the likes of QEE, Hot Toys, Astro Boy, CI Boys, etc...  plus Action figures of all sizes - LIFESIZE even!!!   Am one am not too familiar with, COSMI Toys.   Their goods are new to me...  seems they are trying to cut into the Be@rbrick/Qee market by producing an in between looking type figures - they run the gamut of Disney characters to Marvel & DC Comics Heroes....  They are cute, no doubt about that - just not too sure I need to get started on another collection... LOL!

COSMI TOY COLLECTIONS

There was an IMPRESSIVE section of 12 inch Action Figure Vinyl Toys/Dolls....  from Military Figures to Manga ones; from Real Celebrities to Political Figures (Chairman Mao, Obama, Jay Chou, James Franco, etc); and of course, dolls from popular films such as Star Wars, Marvel Movies (Iron Man, Batman, etc), Scream, and even a few Jim Carrey movies such as Ace Ventura, Mask, and as The Joker....  These figures were made by various different companies...

BATMAN FIGURES

An added Mini Exhibition was on hand, as well.. located just the floor below with easy access escalator to take you there....  This one focuses on Anime/Manga Figures - in many different sizes....  such a GREAT Treat seeing all these UBER COOL, CUTE & FUN figures - of everyone's most loved Anime/Manga characters...
